An incredibly original and intriguing film based on Norwegian folklore, Thale tells the story of two forensic clean-up men who discover a strange woman hidden in the basement of a remote cabin.
Running Time: 77 min. Director: Aleksander L. Nordaas Cast: Silje Reinåmo, Erlend Nervold, Jon Sigve Skard, Morten Andresen
Exploring the myth of the "Huldra," beautiful women with long hair and animal tails who lure men into the woods where they are lost forever, Thale tells the story of Elvis and Leo, childhood friends who work together cleaning crime scenes and removing any human remains left behind. Sent to a house in the woods to collect the body of an old man who was apparently torn apart by wolves, the pair discover a hidden door behind which is a laboratory in eerily preserved condition, filled with equipment, books, and volumes of the old man’s audio diaries. Deeper in the laboratory, in a bathtub filled with milky, opaque fluid, the two find a silent and frightened young woman named Thale. Exploring the cabin further and listening to the audio diaries, Elvis and Leo slowly begin to learn more about Thale, and they soon find themselves protecting Thale from others who seek to take her away.
