In 2000, Slavik Kryklyvyy became World Latin Dance Champion with partner Joanna Leunis and the young couple seemed to be on the cusp of a new dynasty in competitive dance. But, in the years since, Kryklyvyy’s career stalled, while Leunis found fame with another partner. A decade later, he is determined to make a triumphant comeback with his new dance and romantic counterpart, Anna Melnikova. Her less advanced skills and his perfectionism, however, make it challenging for the two to balance their personal and professional relationships. Ballroom Dancer is a film about dance but also a passionate love story.
