ABOUT ABOUT

Providing a first person, behind-the-scenes look at the world of Anonymous, the now infamous radical “hacktivist” collective, We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists is a captivating and engaging documentary exploring the genesis, rise and impact of these types of groups in the digital age.

Running Time: 89 min.     Director: Brian Knappenberger

The Woman in the Septic Tank tracks three aspiring filmmakers as they strive to create an epic film that will garner attention from film festivals and audiences worldwide. Focusing on overseas recognitions, travel, and awards, the filmmaking team decides to make a type of poverty-porn about a mother from the slums of Manila who decides to sell her child to a pedophile in order to survive. The team’s misguided ambitions lead them on a foolish journey resulting in a visit to the local shantytowns where they hope to obtain brilliant Oscar worthy subjects. Currently the highest grossing Filipino independent film in history, The Woman in the Septic Tank is more than just a witty satire about the current state of filmmaking in the Philippines. The film is a must-see for all cinephiles, as it questions the norms and challenges our opinions of independent filmmaking from all over the world.
