Alaska’s frigid climate is not the only reason why Chukwuma has been given the cold shoulder. Because of his ethnic background, “Chuck” has been dismissed as “fake" by his friends in Fairbanks, and struggles to balance his cultural heritage with the pressures of the larger world around him. After a family tragedy forces a two-year estrangement from his younger sister Chidinma, the siblings finally reconnect in their hometown.
