ABOUT ABOUT

A staggering, handmade series of hilarious and heartbreaking animated films about the meaning of existence, Don Hertzfeldt’s "Everything Will be Okay” trilogy is a masterwork by perhaps the best animator in the country.

Running Time: 62 min.     Director: Don Hertzfeldt     Cast: Don Hertzfeldt

Made on film and mixing animation styles, Hertzfeldt, who’s famous for creating dark, edgy short comedies like Billy’s Balloon and Rejected, returns with his most audacious work to date, an epic trilogy about an average man suffering from an undefined terminal illness. Hertzfeldt follows Bill, his protagonist, as his day to day routine begins to shift, becoming more awkward, uncomfortable, and unmanageable, all the while reflecting back on his memories and his place in the universe. Blending his signature line drawing style with multiple screen windows into Bill's dreams and soul, Hertzfeldt delives an incredibly textured image that is unlike anything else you will ever see. Over the course of the trilogy we come to see the world through Bill’s perception, often with great humor and heart, and the films become a dark and beautiful exploration of human frailty, while still offering an important and powerful glimmer of hope.
